Spring morning in North Bristol

In search of something a little different, with spring in season - I wanted to venture into woodland territory once again. I regularly drive along the M32 and the Stokes Park Estate always seems to grab my attention. Having not stood within the grounds before, there was a sense of urge to explore it in more depth this time around. Spending the previous evening researching the local area, I stumbled upon a few things that possibly provided a good photo opportunity! Starting off the morning by Duchess Pond - for a shot at blue hour, the wind was a little strong which spoilt the reflection angle I had in mind and unfortunately, it didn't really work... I then worked my way up to Purdown Tower (believe it or not, this used to be a well-known rave site in Bristol in the 90’s). I was delighted to discover multiple quirky things in the woodlands nearby, such as odd tree carvings and a waterfall - which were a particular highlight… All captured with a 10-20mm wide-angle lens (it’s slowly becoming my favourite piece of photography equipment).

It can be surprising what you can find in the local area, without having to necessarily travel too far to see something new...
