Leafy suburbs

Odd as it is, the peculiar blend of abandoned places/things being reclaimed by nature has always been a particular interest of mine. The classic K6 telephone box is slowly being removed or being transformed into something else that is more useful nowadays, right across the country. There was one near Henbury, Bristol. Having initially arrived at Cumberland Basin during the early hours, hoping to capture the moment of the mass ascent from the Bristol Balloon Fiesta (which unfortunately due to winds, didn’t happen), I then decided to make a brief visit to Blaise Castle. Another spot that has always been quite special for me, I keep meaning to try my hand at astrophotography at this spot one day. I was pretty pleased with the overall results of this set. The leafier side of town always shows a side of Bristol that I’m proud of when I call it ‘home’…

I recently read online that there is a ‘graveyard’ of old telephone boxes hidden next to a railway line in Surrey, unique and a little out of the ordinary, but I’ve taken note of it for a possible visit in the near future…
