Waterfront City

After recently catching up with an old friend one evening, we reminisced about the time we visited Portsmouth as schoolboys in the year of 2001. I then started to read about the area the following day - I made plans to revisit! Leaving the house for the peaceful and uneventful drive during the early morning hours, I had arrived one hour before sunrise. I could see the sky forming into what was going to be a dramatic event during 'blue hour'. There was a low-tide which luckily allowed me to get close to HMS Warrior. I didn’t look at my watch once, but I know for a fact I was in this particular spot for a good couple of hours! I also visited the Spinnaker Tower (which isn't for the faint-hearted - but another staircase ticked off the list towards the portfolio) and from what I remember, construction work had started in the area from all those years ago when I last visited, which closed a large part of the harbour off to the public at the time.

Having spent the full day in this part of the country, it brought back a lot of memories - it's just a shame I didn't appreciate it as much then as I do now...
