Capital morning

Returning back to London, exploring much of the east side over the past few days without the camera for a change, I felt inspired to try a few new things for the following morning. Having reviewed the works of Martha Cooper and Vivian Maier in book form as of late (both street photographers and whose work I greatly admire), I made preparations for the spots I wanted to visit. The winter season can sometimes be dull and overcast a lot of the time in the UK. Working around the elements is something most photographers have to cope with on a daily basis. This can be challenging at times - especially when it's cold also... However, the conditions can sometimes provide a photo that you didn't initially plan on getting, usually when reviewing the photos in post-production, you might find that particular ‘gem’ that could be one of the highlights of the season!

Photography (for me) is usually filled with the element of surprise. Sometimes you stumble upon something you just wasn't looking for - or even knew it existed. Or the viewpoint you discovered by accident. This is what keeps the magic alive - even during the cold, dark, winter months...
