A Bristolian Halloween

Every Halloween, I reminisce with a couple of old friends about some of the antics we got caught up in whilst out in Central Bristol as teenagers. It just seemed appropriate to go out and be creative for the evening with the camera. It had finally stopped raining and without making any initial plans, I headed into the city… Having recently upgraded my tripod to the Manfrotto Element MII, I was keen to get out and try my luck at some low-light photography again. A close friend who is a talented artist, told me how he was commissioned to put a piece up on the outside of a nightclub wall within the city only one week before. He told me to check it out and take some pictures. I had fun capturing the evening - using the 18-140mm lens also (highly recommended when it comes to a versatile lens), along with trying out spinning steel-wool and experimenting with long-exposures of the evening traffic zooming by.

The colourful tones of the city scene always fascinate me, slow-shutter speeds provide more exposed light and can really make a photo stand out...
