A sense of community

A place that continues to inspire me, a city called home! Even though the ever-changing landscape of Bristol is ongoing with construction/demolition work, the creative culture within the communities remains the same. Looking back, it's amazing how physical features have changed within the city for better or (for) worse throughout the years. Setting out during the early hours, there were a couple of spots I wanted to visit with the wide-angle lens - street photography is something I've always been comfortable with. The fast-paced environment can sometimes be considered overwhelming or frustrating for a lot of photographers. However, being patient and not getting caught up with the hustle and bustle can reveal certain aspects of the city that most people walk past without really noticing on a daily basis...

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been reviewing the works of Saul Leiter and Berenice Abbott again in book form. Both of which had a certain unique style and charm from their era, in which their work is still held in high regard to this day. This is why they are often referred to as pioneers of photography! Being inspired by others and being aware of their work can be a beneficial influence on your own portfolio, along with trying a few adopted techniques which can also be instrumental when planning your next trip. Unsure what that would be for me personally - although I am looking forward to the Autumnal season already...
