A city called home

Venturing my way around Clifton during the early hours of the morning, I was anticipating what the sunrise was going to offer, having tried several different compositions for a unique shot of the Clifton Suspension Bridge (with thankfully not much traffic around), I ended up positioning myself in the middle of the road - the sunrise unfortunately didn't really happen, there was far too much cloud cover, but I had to make do with the best of the conditions that were on offer. I spent the majority of the morning on this side of town before walking down towards Hotwells, then Bedminster. This side of the city can be very colourful and vibrant, even without much natural light. Working your way through the elements can unlock a new skill and bring out your most creative side. Only equipping the 10-20mm wide-angle lens, it felt like the best tool to fill the frame with as much detail as I could within my chosen spots!

Bristol is often misconceived as being ‘concrete’. My advice to anyone is to explore as much as you can - you might be surprised by what you could find…
