Tranquil woodland trails
Exploring rural settings, chasing light and finding new compositions within the Somerset woodland - Spring is in the air! A rich palette of colours is starting to flourish and, living within the South West Region, luckily there are a number of great locations to visit - all of which offer something unique/different. During the early hours before sunrise, I experimented with some more astrophotography (something I'm still learning about).
Low winds provided a good opportunity to fly the drone also, in order to capture an aerial shot of Blaise Castle with the golden glow of sunrise - something that's also been high on my list for a while now. Drone use can be a controversial choice for some. However, the ability to view from different perspectives is beneficial in many ways. With saying that, nothing beats being on the ground with my trusty DSLR - I've always found the limitations of composition/light bring out the best creativity. The best ideas often happen when you least expect them. It's all about being in the moment and making use of the scene you're in...
I've had a considerable number of requests over the past few months from social media followers/website form submitters - particularly asking for a Tutorial/BTS page to be added to the website. Over the next few months, I'll plan, add and amend sections for those who are interested. It's always good to give something back!
